QICDRC, a world-class specialised civil and commercial court has today welcome a delegation from Court of Appeal of the State of Kuwait. QICDRC CEO, Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti, welcomed the President of the Court of Appeal and Director of the Kuwait Institute for Legal and Judicial Studies, Judge Fahad Abu-Sulait, Vice-President of the Court of Appeal as well as the Deputy Director of Kuwait Institute for Legal and Judicial Studies.
During the meeting, the two parties discussed issues of mutual interest in the legal field. Mr. Faisal Al-Sahouti also briefed the delegation on the functions of Qatar International Court, the nature of the cases it deals with, as well as the mechanism of consideration and the levels of litigation therein. The delegation had the opportunity to explore the court and tribunal’s facilities and arbitration chambers, where the Chief Executive of the Court gave a detailed explanation of the jurisdiction of the Court and the legislative development in the State of Qatar
Al-Sahouti stressed the importance of exchanging experiences between the two brotherly countries in judicial and legal matters and framework, and expressed keenness to develop the legislative and judicial reality further. He also expressed his aspiration to further these meetings which would contribute to the promotion and development of judicial and legal cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait.
The Kuwaiti delegation visit follows on from a QICDRC delegation visit to the headquarters of the Institute of Legal and Judicial Studies in Kuwait last month. The visit took place on the sidelines of the 2nd Kuwait Business Law Forum which was co-sponsored by QICDRC and Kuwaiti AlYacout Law Firm. Al-Sahouti noted that these mutual visits contribute to enhancing joint cooperation. At the end of the meeting, the Kuwaiti judicial delegation expressed its pleasure to learn about Qatar International Court, praising the advancements the court has made in the judicial process in Qatar.
