In a judgment dated 1 August 2025, the Qatar Financial Centre Civil and Commercial Court terminated the sub-contract between Thales QFZ LLC (Claimant) and AlJaber Engineering Company W.L.L (Defendant) and ordered the return of the Performance Guarantee to Thales. The Defendant’s counterclaim was dismissed, and they were ordered to pay Thales a total of QAR 8,385,718.31 for approved and unapproved works, damages for delay, loss of profits, and costs related to extending the Performance Guarantee. The Defendant was also required to cover Thales' legal costs. The dispute originated from a sub-contract for security equipment at the New Port Strategic Food Security Facilities in Qatar.
