Australia

As a Barrister from 1981 and as Senior Counsel in New South Wales from 1984 and as Queens Counsel in Western Australia from 1998 Mr Allsop practised in a wide variety of areas primarily in commercial law.

His expertise from his experience as an advocate and Judge covers all areas of commercial law, including company law and business and partnership disputes, taxation, restrictive trade practices (anti-trust), intellectual property including patents, trademarks, copyright and industrial designs, contract and building and construction; with particular specialties in insurance and reinsurance, intellectual property, maritime law and insolvency. Mr Allsop’s experience extends to public and constitutional law. His arbitral experience since April 2023 includes appointments under the ACICA and HKIAC rules, ad hoc arbitration and empanelment with the LCIA, AIAC, SIAC, SCMA and the LMAA as a supporting member.

Dr. Talal Abdulla Al-Emadi

Qatar

Dr. Talal Abdulla Al-Emadi is the Dean of College of Law at Qatar University (QU), and a founding faculty member of the College of Law. He is a registered lawyer with the Qatari Bar. He was seconded from QU to the Amiri Diwan as a legal counselor for the Minister of State for the Council of Ministers Affairs. He holds a doctorate degree in law (DPhil) from the University of Oxford. His thesis questioned the preference of joint venture agreements in the Qatari gas industry. He holds a Master degree in law (LLM) from Harvard University, and he returned to Harvard as a Visiting Scholar in 2010. He was among the first QU law graduating class, in 1994, to receive the Bachelor of law degree (LLB) after which he was the first teaching assistant (TA) who joined the then Department of Law (now College of Law). He is also an alumnus of Georgetown Leadership Seminar (Washington DC) and the Cornell University Public Sector Leadership Program, as part of the first the Arabic cohort through the UN’s ESCWA. 

Dr. Muna Al-Marzouqi

Qatar

Dr Muna Al-Marzouqi has been a judge of the QFC Regulatory Tribunal since 2021. She earned her LL.B. in Law with Order of Excellence from Qatar University. She holds an LL.M. from University of California Berkeley and an S.J.D from Tulane University in the field of maritime law. Dr. Muna has been an Assistant Professor at Qatar University College of Law since 2011, where she teaches maritime law and commercial law. Between 2018-2020, she was the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate studies at the College.

In 2020, she was appointed as an Associate Vice President for Academic Planning & Quality Assurance at Qatar University. She graduated from Qatar Leadership Centre in 2018. She is also a member of the Anti-doping Appeal Panel (Qatar Anti-doping committee) and a licensed lawyer before the Qatari Courts.

In 2017, she won the Georgetown University Fellowship Award. She received the Education Excellence Award (doctorate degree category) from the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in 2018. She was awarded the Excellence in Research Award from Qatar University College of Law in 2018.
