The Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC), in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), organised the first Arabic-language intensive training programme qualifying participants for CIArb membership via the accelerated route in international commercial arbitration.
The programme provided an in-depth study of key arbitration topics under the UNCITRAL framework, including arbitration agreements, tribunal powers, procedural conduct, and enforcement of awards.
It attracted wide participation from the Ministry of Justice’s State Cases Department, government entities, leading Qatari law firms, and international consultancies from across the GCC.
The initiative forms part of QICDRC’s partnership with CIArb, established through a 2017 Memorandum of Understanding, which seeks to deliver specialised training in both Arabic and English, and to strengthen arbitration and mediation capabilities in Qatar and the wider region.
