Summary

The QFC Appellate Division dismissed Barzah Capital LLC’s application for permission to appeal an award of QAR 36,000, plus interest and costs, to Nadia El Jed for technical and advisory services. Despite no written agreement for the second phase of work, the parties’ conduct established an obligation to pay reasonable remuneration. The first phase’s price provided a permissible basis for valuing the second. The court emphasised that small-claims appeals should respect trial courts’ evidential assessments where sufficiently supported, preserving fair and speedy justice.
