Summary

In the Qatar Financial Centre Civil and Commercial Court Appellate Division, applications for permission to appeal and to admit fresh evidence were refused for cases involving Ibrahim Al-Nasr and Ali Al-Maadeed against Nexus Financial Services WLL. The applicants sought investment advice from Nexus and invested substantial sums through bonds provided by Old Mutual Investment. Payments ceased, and they were unable to obtain information from OMI after brokerage was transferred to another broker. The court upheld the initial judgments dismissing the claims, stating no loss was proven and that Nexus was not responsible after the transfer. Each applicant was ordered to pay the respondent's costs.
