Qatar International Court Sponsors “Women in Law in the Arab World - Qatar Edition” Book

A book launch event was held on February 6, where attendees had the opportunity to hear from some of the legal experts featured in the publication.

The publication features a diverse group of accomplished female legal professionals, including Asmaa Ali Al-Quradaghi, Founding Partner of Asmaa Al-Quradaghi Law Firm for Legal Consultancy and Arbitration; Dr. Muna Al-Marzouqi, Judge of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) Regulatory Tribunal; Mona Al Mutawa, Founding Partner of Mona Al Mutawa Law Firm; Fatma Al-Ali, Legal Relationships and Partnerships Manager at QICDRC; Farah Al-Muftah, Deputy Managing Director at QFCRA; Dr. Reem Al Ansari, Founder of Dr. Reem Al Ansari Law Firm; Dr. Ghada M Darwish Karbon, Founder of Dr. Ghada M. Darwish Karbon Law Firm; Fatma Mansour Al-Mesleh, Vice President Student Affairs at Lusail University; Duha Al Mulla, Case Progression Manager Associate at QICDRC, and Dana Al Ansari, Group Director of Legal Affairs at Barwa Real Estate Group.

Commenting on the release of the book, Dr. Muna Al-Marzouqi, QICDRC Judge at the QFC Regulatory Tribunal, said: “The release of this publication is a testament to the hard work and dedication of women in the legal industry, and I hope it will serve as an inspiration for young women considering a career in law. I am grateful to the Qatar International Court for their sponsorship of this important book, which is a positive step forward towards formally recognising the role of women in the legal field.”

Guest Speaker at the event, Farah Al Muftah, Managing Director of Policy, Legal & Enforcement at QFC Regulatory Authority said: "This book is a welcome initiative that recognizes the challenges and achievements of women lawyers in the Arab World. It’s my honour to be featured amongst a group of such highly regarded women in the field. I hope that the book and yesterday's engaging panel discussion inspire future generations of women to pursue a legal education or career in law."

Mona Al Mutawa, Founding Partner of Mona Al Mutawa Law Firm, also spoke at the launch event. “The release of this publication is very welcome and feels momentous. While I am delighted to be featured in the Qatar edition, with it comes a great responsibility to constantly improve my vision as a lawyer as well as a social worker”, she said.

The book launch event was held in collaboration with QICDRC’s strategic alliance partner, LexisNexis Middle East. The partnership aims to increase legal awareness, empower the legal community, and provide greater access to legal information in Qatar and the region.
